Abstract

This research paper aims to examine the financial performance of small finance banks using the CAMEL model. The study period spans from 2016-17 to 2020-21, and a sample of five small finance banks has been selected for analysis. The CAMEL model, which stands for Capital adequacy, Asset quality, Management quality, Earnings, and Liquidity, provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating banks' financial health. By applying the CAMEL model to the selected sample banks, this study seeks to assess their overall performance and identify areas of strength and weakness. The findings of this research can help stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, and bank management, in understanding the financial performance of small finance banks and making informed decisions.
