By the way, love in all her stories in this book is in different forms such as 'this is the truth', the emotional truth of love in the story, the romance and loneliness of love in the height story, the truth with closed doors, the entanglement of female doubt and pain in the stories. The painting is so simple and beautiful that it seems that the characters of his stories are standing in front of us in real form.

शोधार्थी द्वारा जब मन्नू भंडारी की श्रेष्ठ प्रेम कहानियाँ पुस्तक का अध्ययन किया गया तो पाया गया कि मन्नू भंडारी की कहानियों में उनके पात्रों द्वारा किए गए प्रेम में समाज के सामाजिक कथा सत्य, समय सत्य, व शिल्प सत्य का बहुत ही सजीव व सुन्दर चित्रांकन अभिव्यक्त हुआ है। उनके प्रेम का कथा संसार बहुत ही सहज व सार्थक है, जोकि मानव के अन्र्तमन की बहुत सी कड़ियों को उजागर करता है, कि किस तरह से सांसारिक प्राणी विभिन्न रुपों में प्रेम भाव को ग्रहण करता है। वैसे तो इस पुस्तक में उनकी सभी कहानियों में प्रेम विभिन्न रुपों में जैसे कि ’यही सच है, कहानी में प्रेम का भावनात्मक सत्य, ऊँचाई कहानी में प्रेम का रोमांस व अकेलापन, बंद दरवाजों के साथ सत्य कहांनियों में नारी संदेह की अन्र्तव्यथा व पीड़ा का इतना सहज व सुन्दर चित्रांकन है कि लगता है कि उनकी कहानियों के पात्र साकार रुप जीवन्त होकर, हमारे सामने खडे़ है।
