Abstract

Women participation in politics is one of the key areas for empowering women in the society. Studies show that educational engagement and political participation are interrelated to each other because education will help to be conscious in the field of politics and it will reinforce them to participate in politics. The present study focused to find out the reasons behind the problem faced by the Muslim women in the political participation due to interference of their male counterparts or the male members of the family. The rational of the study is to identify the actual nature of their consciousness about the politics with special reference to Kaliachak-1 block of Malda District. More specially, the most important matter is that the investigator investigates the hindrance of factors affecting the political unconsciousness. The paper seeks to comprehend existing condition of Muslim women in their family as well as society regarding their political appearance that will help to know the actual reasons lack in political unconsciousness.
