There are different tribal groups in Kerala, and they constitute less than 1.5 per cent of the total population of the state. In Thrissur district, it is less than 1 per cent in district-wise analysis. Among the five Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG), Kadar is one of the groups (Kochin Kadar), and the majority of them are living in Thrissur district, and the rest of them are in Palakkad district. This conceptual study mainly focuses on the available educational facilities for tribes and issues such as the low literacy level of the tribal community and the high dropout rate in Thrissur district. The secondary data used for the evaluation are collected from various sources such as published and unpublished government documents, research studies, articles, news, and other sources.
