Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge Psychosexual Theory and Its Stages among 3rd Year Basic BSc Nursing Students of selected nursing colleges of Kolhapur District

Abstract

There are different phases in a person's development from infancy to adulthood. Popular psychology scientist Sigmund Freud is renowned for his psychoanalysis. He also developed a five-phase model of psychosexual development, which includes the oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital stages.  Psychosexual development is generally vital for human growth, according to Sigmund Freud. In this study, third-year BSc nursing students' understanding of the psychosexual stages of development was evaluated. Research Methodology: The Research methodology adapted for the study was pre-experimental pretest post -test Design Self-prepared interview questionnaire was administered to BSc nursing students of selected collages to assess demographic data. All the 30 samples asses’ effectiveness of planned teaching program on knowledge regarding psychosexual development and its stages. Validity was established by expert. The reliability of study was done The data collection was done on 30 samples by convenience sampling method from selected samples from selected collages. The collected data was tabulated in master sheet and analyses using descriptive and inferential statics. Results: There was significant effect of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding psychosexual development and its stages among BSc nursing students, and there was 1 association between knowledge score and the selected demographic variables. Conclusion: This study could help to BSc nursing students to increase knowledge about psychosexual development and its stages and prevent complications.
